2022 NFL season, Week 16: Notable injuries, news from Saturday's games

Here are the injuries and news we're monitoring around the league on this Week 16 Saturday:

  • Atlanta Falcons tight end Feleipe Franks was evaluated for a head injury and did not return against the Ravens.
  • Carolina Panthers wide receiver Shi Smith did not return against the Lions with a foot and head injury. Cornerback Jaycee Horn (wrist) also did not return.
  • Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle La'el Collins, who was carted off with a left knee injury against the Patriots, has had initial tests on his knee, and his ACL is believed to be intact, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per sources. According to Rapoport, the kneecap shifted, causing significant pain, but it shifted back into place. Collins was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
  • Houston Texans offensive lineman Tytus Howard was evaluated for a concussion and ruled out against the Titans. Tight end Teagan Quitoriano (knee) was also ruled out. Defensive back M.J. Stewart was evaluated for a concussion and did not return.
  • Indianapolis Colts tight end Kylen Granson (ankle) and cornerback Kenny Moore (ankle) are out for Monday's game against the Chargers.
  • Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones suffered an elbow injury in the third quarter against Pittsburgh and was quickly ruled out. Linebacker Denzel Perryman suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter and was also ruled out.
  • Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Kemon Hall (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Colts.
  • New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry (knee) was ruled out against the Bengals. Tight end Jonnu Smith (head) did not return.
  • New Orleans Saints guard Andrus Peat (ankle) was carted to the locker room during the first quarter against the Browns and later ruled out.
  • New York Giants linebacker Azeez Ojulari (ankle) was ruled out against the Vikings.
  • Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox (toe) was ruled out against the Cowboys. Defensive tackle Jordan Davis was also ruled out after being evaluated for a head injury.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Tre Norwood (hamstring) was ruled out against Las Vegas.
  • Seattle Seahawks running back Travis Homer (ankle) and offensive lineman Abraham Lucas (thigh) did not return against the Chiefs. Safety Joey Blount (knee) was ruled out.
  • Tennessee Titans linebacker Zach Cunningham (elbow) did not return against the Texans. Linebacker Bud Dupree also did not return with a chest injury.
  • Washington Commanders defensive end James Smith-Williams was evaluated for a head injury and did not return. Linebacker Jon Bostic was ruled out with a pec injury.
