49ers LB Willis sidelined vs. Cardinals with bum hamstring

San Francisco linebacker Patrick Willis will miss his first game of the season when the 49ers visit the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Sunday.

Willis hurt his hamstring early in the 49ers' win over the St. Louis Rams last Sunday. The team was hesitant to share much information regarding his Wednesday MRI exam, with coach Jim Harbaugh saying he "wouldn't share any information on it."

Willis previously was listed as questionable on the 49ers' injury report.

The 49ers did get some positive news on the injury front, as cornerback Carlos Rodgers (knee) and wideout Braylon Edwards (knee) will play Sunday.

Cardinals linebacker Joey Porter (knee) and safety Kerry Rhodes (foot) are inactive, while tight end Todd Heap (hamstring) will play.
