Bears place Ogunleye on injured reserve, sign punter

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears signed punter Richmond McGee to a two-year contract Monday and placed defensive end Adewale Ogunleye on injured reserve. Terms of McGee's deal were not disclosed. McGee will wear jersey No. 10 and is eligible to play in Monday night's contest against Minnesota.

McGee spent the 2009 preseason with the Bears and had four punts for 145 yards (36.3 average), landing two inside-the-20. McGee originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008 and spent a majority of the preseason with the team before being released on August 26th. During his career at the University of Texas (2002-05), McGee averaged 39.6 yards on 130 punts. Thirty-six percent of his kickoffs (96 of 265) went for touchbacks.

Ogunleye started all 14 games at left defensive end this season and recorded a team-high 6.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries, with 33 tackles, one tackle for a loss and one forced fumble.
