Browns LB Jackson still hampered by hamstring, misses practice

BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson didn't practice Thursday because of a hamstring injury.

Jackson, who leads the Browns in tackles, was limited in Wednesday's workout, but he was kept out the next day as Cleveland prepared for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Jackson had 14 tackles last Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. He led the NFL last season with 154 stops.

Rookies David Veikune and Kaluka Maiava are listed as backups behind Jackson and Eric Barton. Neither of the first-year pros has a tackle this season.

Browns kicker Phil Dawson (ankle) also missed practice. He hasn't played in Cleveland's past two games.

Running back Jamal Lewis (hamstring) was limited. He has been inactive the last two weeks.
