Buccaneers' Prime docuseries 'Raise the flags' streaming Thursday

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that Raise The Flags: 50 Years of Buccaneers Football – a new 10-part Prime Original docuseries – will debut exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, Dec. 11, the same day Tampa Bay faces the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football.

Commissioned and produced by Buccaneers co-owner Ed Glazer and directed by eight-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Trent Cooper, Raise The Flags is a wide-ranging portrait of the Buccaneers organization, tracing its path from humble beginnings to championship heights. The series, presented by Skydance Sports and Prime Video Sports, is the most complete account of the Buccaneers history ever produced.

"Raise The Flags is a celebration of the people, the perseverance, and the passion that built this franchise over the past 50 seasons," Glazer said. "We wanted to create an honest and comprehensive look at our journey – from the earliest challenges to the unforgettable championship moments – and to honor everyone who has shaped the Buccaneers franchise into what it is today. This series celebrates that rich history in a way that has never been done before."

Viewers will be taken back to the team's infamous 0-26 start and guided through the pivotal moments that reshaped the franchise's trajectory. The series revisits the club's surprising rise to prominence in 1979; the transformational sale to the Glazer Family; the move to acquire Jon Gruden that culminated in the club's first Super Bowl championship; the drafting and development of generational talents such as John Lynch, Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber and Mike Evans; and an unforgettable run to a second title in Super Bowl LV after signing NFL legend Tom Brady. Along the way, Raise The Flags uncovers the untold stories and behind-the-scenes moments that shaped the identity of the organization.

Cooper, known for his award-winning work on high-profile sports documentaries and character-driven storytelling, led a production team that conducted 100 interviews with current and former players, coaches, executives, staff, media personalities and more. First-hand accounts are supported by archival footage and historical recordings that provide a detailed look at the franchise's fifty years of evolution.

"I grew up in the Tampa Bay area and have loved the Bucs my entire life, but storytelling is my job, and this story has it all: grit, heartbreak, community, unforgettable characters and more," said Cooper. "The best part of this project for me has been going deep into the rise of this franchise and uncovering stories even lifelong fans never knew."

Raise The Flags will stream on Prime Video beginning Dec. 11, offering viewers nationwide seamless access with a Prime membership on any compatible device. The series will also run on NFL Network this summer.
