Don't count out Carlos Rogers just yet.
Brooks: Fear the Pack
Responding to a report that he won't play in San Francisco's wild-card showdown with the Packers on Sunday because of a hamstring injury, the 49ers cornerback refused to rule himself out.
"Oh no,"Â Rogers said Tuesday, per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. "Hell no."
Rogers underwent MRI testing Monday after injuring his hamstring in the closing minutes of last week's win over the Arizona Cardinals. His durability has been a strength. Rogers currently leads all 49ers defenders with 1,068 snaps from scrimmage and hasn't missed a game in three seasons.
"We'll see," Rogers said. "It ain't bad."
Asked about his cornerback's status, coach Jim Harbaugh said Tuesday: "We're always hopeful. He's a little sore, but these guys heal faster than normal human beings."
If Rogers is limited, Tarell Brown and Tramaine Brock will start at corner with Eric Wright manning the slot.
On Monday, San Francisco added Perrish Cox to a defense that has allowed just 154 points over their past 10 games.
UPDATE: Rogers did not participate Wednesday in the 49ers' practice.
