Charles Tillman's season has been ruined by the same injury that ended his season prematurely in 2013.
The Bearsannounced that Tillman tore his right triceps in Sunday night's 28-20 comeback victory over the San Francisco 49ers and is out for the remainder of the season. He will be placed on injured reserve.
Along with linebacker Lance Briggs, Tillman is a valuable, longtime leader on a Bears defense attempting to bounce back from a disappointing 2013 campaign. Although this is a big loss, the coaching staff has to feel good about the play of first-round rookie Kyle Fuller, who was outstanding in Week 2, recording twointerceptions off Colin Kaepernick.
Tillman, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, turns 34 years old in February. Set to hit the open market a month later, his future in Chicago -- and perhaps even in the NFL -- is up in the air.
