Cioffi joins Deshea Townsend, who was hired last week and will serve as the assistant primarily working with corners and nickel backs.

Cioffi had worked in the Bengals' organization since 1997 and has been coaching in the NFL for 16 years. The 37-year-old was at the Cardinals' complex Tuesday and met defensive backs Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Adrian Wilson, Kerry Rhodes and A.J. Jefferson.

Cioffi and Townsend replace Donnie Henderson and Rick Courtright, who didn't have their contracts renewed.
