Colts trade Cody Parkey to Eagles for David Fluellen

With Ahmad Bradshaw still awaiting medical clearance and Vick Ballard out for the season, the Indianapolis Colts have been on the lookout for depth behind starter Trent Richardson.

The Philadelphia Eaglesannounced Wednesday that they have traded running back David Fluellen to the Colts in exchange for kicker Cody Parkey.

A priority undrafted free-agent signing out of Toledo, Fluellen was a first-team All-MAC pick as both a junior and senior. Battling a training-camp calf injury, he was outplayed by fellow rookie Henry Josey in Philadelphia.

Fluellen is a power back with limited speed, similar in traits to Alfred Morris or Mikel Leshoure. He became expendable when the Eagles traded forKenjon Barner on Tuesday.

Although Eagles kicker Alex Henery has had a strong training camp, the coaching staff was less than thrilled with his missed field goal in last week's loss to the New England Patriots.

"All options are available," special teams coordinator Dave Fipp said this week, via the Philadelphia Inquirer. "We'll look at everybody, and we'll continue to watch Al."

Perhaps they simply want to see how Henery responds to the pressure of competing with a former Auburn kicker who led college football with 69 touchbacks last season.

The latest "Around the League Podcast" recaps all of the action from the second week of the preseason.
