Jayden Daniels and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury are likely to breathe a sigh of relief before kickoff.
Deebo Samuel is active for the Washington Commanders' Monday night game against the visiting Chicago Bears.
Samuel missed a pair of practices this week and was limited in another dealing with a heel injury. However, he will not be joining Terry McLaurin (quad) and Noah Brown (groin/knee) as sidelined Washington wide receivers, as they were each ruled out previously.
With McLaurin having played just three games, Samuel has been the team's top wide receiver by a wide margin, tallying 30 receptions (16 more than any other player, 20 more than any other wideout), 300 receiving yards (151 more than any other player and/or wideout) and a team-best three receiving touchdowns.
In addition to Samuel, tight end Zach Ertz has been the team's other top target (14 receptions, 149 yards, two touchdowns), while increased roles for Luke McCaffrey and Chris Moore are also likely. Even with a banged-up Samuel active, it's a slim unit for Daniels to have at his disposal.
The Commanders (3-2) kick off against the Bears (2-2) in the second half of a Monday night doubleheader.
