Dolphins activating Odell Beckham Jr. off PUP list; WR to play vs. Patriots

Odell Beckham is set to make his Dolphins debut on Sunday.

NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report that Miami will be activating Beckham off the physically unable to perform list and the wideout will play against the New England Patriots.

Beckham was sidelined all offseason with a knee injury and opened the year on the physically unable to perform list. He returned to practice this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report.

The 31-year-old wideout told reporters Thursday that his delayed return to the practice field was due to a combo of knee surgery and a desire to spend more time with his family. He added that going on the PUP list a "selfless act" because a chunk of his one-year, $8.25 million contract is based on incentives.

Beckham's return is a timely one for a Dolphins offense that has struggled mightily in the wake of Tua Tagovailoa's absence. Mike McDaniel's unit, which led the league in several categories last season, currently ranks 26th in the league in yards per game (285.0) and last in the league in points per game (11.3).

Looking to stop a three-game skid, the Dolphins (1-3) are on the road to face a Patriots (1-3) team also riding a three-game losing streak.
