They say the shoes make the man. This adage is certainly not lost on Washington Redskins safety Duke Ihenacho.
The only difference, however, is that this man makes the shoes as well.
Ihenacho has a unique hobby of covering his cleats in black and white duct tape to resemble other kinds of footwear. He's covered his Nike shoes to look like Converse Chuck Taylors, Nike sandals and even house slippers.
Unfortunately, Ihenacho will have to stick to his classic cleats during game day, as players are strongly discouraged from tweaking and customizing their kicks.
Either way, his podiatry-inspired pursuit is certainly worth applauding.
