The Philadelphia Eagles are no stranger to the mid-season trade acquisition under general manager Howie Roseman.
Ahead of next week's Nov. 5 trade deadline, head coach Nick Sirianni said he doesn't spend time considering potential moves, leaving that to the front office. However, sitting at 5-2 after three consecutive victories, the coach likes where his club is at.
"I love the team that we have," Sirianni said Monday, via the team's official website. "And I think this team is really coming together. With that being said, I know we're always looking for ways to improve our team. I know [Executive Vice President/General Manager] Howie [Roseman] is the best at that -- of always, always, always, looking at ways he can improve the football team. I admire that and value that of how he goes to work there.
"But like I said, love the guys that we have. I think we're coming together really nicely as a team. But we'll see how this next week plays out."
During his tenure, Roseman has constantly sought to fill holes. Last year, he traded for safety Kevin Byard. In 2022, he added defensive end Robert Quinn. In previous years, he's gone after running back Jay Ajayi, receiver Golden Tate, or edge rusher Genard Avery.
The results have been mixed, but Roseman is one GM who won't sit idly when there are potential improvements to be made.
Sydney Brown's return helped cover safety depth concerns, and the offensive line backups played well Sunday against Cincinnati, potentially closing needs in those areas. It's possible the Eagles could chase some pass-rush help, with the offseason addition of Bryce Huff not unfolding as planned.
"Each year is different," Sirianni said. "Again, like I said, any way we can make the team better, I'm always up for that."
