Eagles' Samuel, Dixon, Parker questionable vs. Bears

Andy Reid wouldn't say it, couldn't say it really.

With Philadelphia confronting two games in the span of five days, one against an imposing offense and one of the best wide receivers in the game in Andre Johnson and another against an offense ranked almost last, it might make sense to rest cornerback Asante Samuel and his aching knee Sunday when the Eagles (7-3) visit the Chicago Bears (7-3).

And while that's still what Reid might do, he isn't about to tell anyone. For now, Samuel is listed as questionable ... and that's it.

"He's doing better," Reid said. "He's feeling a little bit better. He's still not 100 percent, so that's why we listed him where we listed him. But we'll just see how he does here."

Along with Samuel, second-year defensive tackle Antonio Dixon (abdomen) and veteran defensive end Juqua Parker (hip) did not practice Friday and are listed as questionable.

Defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (elbow), cornerback Jorrick Calvin (back), guard Todd Herremans (knee), running back LeSean McCoy (shoulder) and linebacker Ernie Sims (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday and are listed as probable.

Guard Nick Cole (knee) was limited in practice Friday and also is probable for the game.

Eagles coach Andy Reid said Wednesday he didn't know exactly when Samuel sustained the knee injury, but said the cornerback believed it might have been on a fumble recovery. Samuel also had two interceptions in the game.

The NFL fined Samuel $40,000 on Wednesday for hitting Giants wide receiver Derek Hagan in the head and neck area during the game. It was Samuel's second infraction for unnecessary roughness this season.

Samuel said a change of tactics was in order because of the league's fine.

"They don't pay me to tackle," Samuel jokingly said earlier in the week. "Now they're charging me to tackle."
