Receiver Tiquan Underwood, who was released by the New England Patriots on the eve of Super Bowl XLVI, has become a free agent after no one claimed him on waivers, according to Scout.com.

Giants' 21-17 win over the
Patriots in
Super Bowl XLVI on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. ET.
Underwood was released so that the team could promote defensive end Alex Silvestro, who did not see the field Sunday, from their practice squad.
The roster move had led to speculation that Chad Ochocinco would be more involved in the game, but the Patriots receiver had just one catch for 21 yards.
"This Is Nothing But MOTIVATION....," Underwood tweeted Saturday, followed by this tweet: "I Been Thru A LOT...But There Are Ppl In This World w/ More Serious Problems So I Cant Hang The Head....Thank You Lord #Blessed"
Underwood would have been eligible for a Super Bowl ring, had the Patriots won, but that was made a moot point when the Giantstook the 21-17 victory.
The receiver was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He has 26 catches for 599 yards and no touchdowns in three seasons in the NFL.
