It appears Baltimore Ravens nose tackle Haloti Ngata won't be disciplined for the hit that injured Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III last Sunday.
At the tail end of a fourth-quarter scramble by Griffin, Ngata lowered his shoulder and belted the rookie quarterback. Griffin sprained his knee on the play and eventually was forced to exit the game, which the Redskins won in overtime.
Ngata told The Baltimore Sun on Thursday he believed it was a clean hit.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Ernie Sims was fined $15,750 for an unnecessary roughness penalty during last week's 20-19 win at Cincinnati. Sims hit Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones, striking "a defenseless receiver in the head and neck area," according to the league.
Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara was fined $15,750 for a horse-collar tackle on New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas in New York's 52-27 win.
New York Jets rookie defensive lineman Quinton Coples was fined $15,000 for grabbing the facemask of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne. Coples was called for a penalty when Henne scrambled for 1 yard on a third-and-3 play last Sunday. The play extended a drive in which the Jaguars later scored in the Jets' 17-10 victory.
Detroit offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus was docked $10,000 for a chop block in the Lions'Â 27-20 loss at Green Bay.
St. Louis Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan was fined $10,000 for grabbing Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller by the facemask.
Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman was fined $7,875 for a late hit on Minnesota Vikings running back Toby Gerhart.
