Former Eagle safety Mikell to sign four-year deal with Rams

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams addressed a need in the secondary, agreeing to terms on a four-year contract with free-agent safety Quintin Mikell.

The 30-year-old Mikell led the Philadelphia Eagles in tackles last year and added three interceptions. He made the 2009 Pro Bowl and will likely be the replacement for O.J. Atogwe.

Mikell was with the Eagles for eight seasons, including a time when Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo was an assistant in Philadelphia.
