Gailey: Sore groin shouldn't sideline Bills WR Johnson

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson missed practice Thursday because of a sore groin that has been bothering him for about a month.

Bills coach Chan Gailey said Johnson was just given the day off, and he fully anticipates the receiver to play Sunday when the Billshost the Oakland Raiders.

"Stevie's been having a nagging groin for a month, so we just gave him a rest today," Gailey said following Thursday's practice, via the Buffalo News.

Johnson told reporters he expects to practice Friday.

Johnson appeared to tweak the injury in a position drill Wednesday during the portion that reporters were able to watch. He took a few repetitions off before returning.

The four-year veteran led the Bills with 82 catches last season, and he had four receptions for 66 yards and one touchdown in Buffalo's season-opening 41-7 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.

Bills defensive lineman Torell Troup (back) and linebacker Arthur Moats (knee) both were limited again Thursday.
