Lions rule rookie DT Fairley out of opener vs. Buccaneers

TAMPA, Fla. -- Detroit Lions rookie defensive tackle Nick Fairley, a first-round draft pick, is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a foot injury.

Third quarterback Drew Stanton, cornerback Alphonso Smith, running back Keiland Williams, linebacker Doug Hogue, guard Jacques McClendon and offensive tackle Jason Fox also are inactive for the Lions.

Running back Allen Bradford, safety Larry Asante, cornerbacks Myron Lewis and Anthony Gaitor, tackle Demar Dotson and Derek Hardman and tight Zach Pianalto are inactive for Tampa Bay.
