Luke Kuechly ejected for personal foul penalty

The Carolina Panthers lost the reigning Defensive Player of the Year during Sunday's 38-17 loss versus the Green Bay Packers.

All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly was ejected late in the third quarter for making contact with an official. Ben Jacobsreplaced him.

It's hard to fault Kuechly. He was grabbed from behind by the referee and swung his arm to get out of the hold. The contact from Kuechly was not malicious in any way.

Kuechly will not face a suspension, per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, via a league source. He is subject to a fine, though.

Prior to the ejection, Kuechly was leading the team with eight tackles in a 38-3 blowout.
