Neil Reynolds' 2025 Week 17 Power Rankings

There are no great teams in the NFL, only a bunch of good ones at the top of these rankings who can be beaten on any day. That means we should buckle up for a wild ride all the way to Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara, California, in February.

Here is the current state of play – as I view it – with two weeks of the regular season remaining.

  1. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS +2

Beating the team previously in first place in these rankings earns you the right to be on top.

  1. LOS ANGELES RAMS -1

The Rams are going to be fine. They gained almost 600 yards against Seattle on the road.

  1. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS +2

Drake Maye has truly arrived and the Patriots are a true contender because of his growth.

  1. BUFFALO BILLS --

The Bills are in a good place knowing James Cook can lead the way when Josh Allen is quiet.

  1. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS +3

Winners of six in a row, the Jaguars have earned the right for us to take them very seriously.

  1. CHICAGO BEARS --

It was not a very pretty first 58 minutes against Green Bay, but this team finds a way to win.

  1. DENVER BRONCOS -5

That loss at home to the Jags was a shock to Denver's system as they shipped 34 points.

  1. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS +1

Brock Purdy was red hot against Indianapolis on MNF, throwing five touchdown passes.

  1. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS +2

The Chargers are officially into the playoffs and they are heating up at the right time of year.

  1. GREEN BAY PACKERS -3

The playoff chances of the Packers rest largely on getting QB Jordan Love back on the field.

  1. HOUSTON TEXANS -1

The Texans have won seven in a row, but messing around with the Raiders was not inspiring.

  1. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES --

Back-to-back wins over Las Vegas and Washington do not have me convinced… yet.

  1. PITTSBURGH STEELERS +1

Aaron Rodgers has done what was asked of him. The Steelers are on track to take the North.

  1. CAROLINA PANTHERS +4

It's not perfect in Charlotte, but the growth of Bryce Young at QB has been pleasing to see.

  1. DETROIT LIONS -2

The Lions have not been able to make enough defensive stops or capture the magic of 2024.

  1. BALTIMORE RAVENS -1

The Ravens are on Lamar Jackson Injury Watch once again with their season in the balance.

  1. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS -1

How can Philip Rivers be rolled out of retirement and be better than half of the league?

  1. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS -1

The Bucs have lost six of seven and Baker Mayfield is making critical mistakes late in games.

  1. MINNESOTA VIKINGS +1

The Vikings dug out another hard-fought win in NY, but JJ McCarthy could be out once more.

  1. ATLANTA FALCONS +2

How about this for a game plan? Keep feeding the ball to running back Bijan Robinson.

  1. DALLAS COWBOYS -2

That's three losses in a row for a Cowboys team filled with hope on Thanksgiving night.

  1. CINCINNATI BENGALS +2

Joe Burrow is too good and too proud to let this team coast through their remaining games.

  1. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS +2

The Saints have won three in a row and might have found their QB in Tyler Shough.

  1. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS -1

The Chiefs are down their top two quarterbacks and might yet end up with a top 10 draft pick.

  1. MIAMI DOLPHINS -5

The massive re-set begins in a couple of weeks. Will head coach Mike McDaniel survive?

  1. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS --

Dan Quinn loves football but I bet Washington's head coach cannot wait for this year to end.

  1. TENNESSEE TITANS +4

The Titans have a massive building job ahead of them. This roster is thin on talent.

  1. CLEVELAND BROWNS --

Myles Garrett is on 22 sacks and needs one more to own the single season record outright.

  1. ARIZONA CARDINALS -2

The Cardinals have lost seven in a row and have won just once in front of their own fans.

  1. NEW YORK JETS --

The Jets have just three wins. I expected more when I saw them fighting hard in Week 1.

  1. NEW YORK GIANTS --

Changes need to come quickly and hugely in NY before the Giants break QB Jaxson Dart.

  1. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS --

There is very little get excited about, but Ashton Jeanty can become a star in the future.
