COACHING NEWS

  • Cincinnati has named Jerry Montgomery as its new defensive line coach/run game coordinator and Mike Hodges as its new linebackers coach. Montgomery and Hodges were previously coaching in New England and New Orleans, respectively.

COACHING NEWS

  • The Cowboys are expected to hire former 49ers defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen as their new special teams coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported. Sorensen spent 2024 as the Niners' DC, but the team decided to move on and eventually signed Robert Saleh for the role. Sorensen is replacing longtime Cowboys ST coordinator John "Bones" Fassell, who is now with the Titans.
  • Dallas is interviewing former Bears head coach Matt Eberflus for its vacant defensive coordinator job, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported. Pelissero adds that if all goes well, Eberflus is expected to be hired by the Cowboys.

  • Broncos DBs coach Jim Leonhard, who drew interest from other teams for a defensive coordinator role, has elected to remain in Denver, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

  • Houston has named Mike Tomon as its new team president.

  • Jacksonville is interviewing Daronte Jones on Monday for its vacant defensive coordinator position under head coach Liam Coen, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Jones is currently the Vikings' pass game coordinator/defensive backs coach.
  • The Jaguars completed an interview with Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham for their vacant DC position.

COACHING NEWS

  • New England is hiring Thomas Brown as its new tight ends coach/pass game coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Monday. Brown was the interim head coach and offensive coordinator last season in Chicago.

  • San Francisco has named Brant Boyer as its new special teams coordinator. Boyer spent the previous nine seasons with the New York Jets under that same role.

  • Tampa Bay has completed an interview with Rams assistant coach Nate Scheelhaase for its vacant offensive coordinator job.

  • Tennessee has promoted Luke Stocker to TEs coach, hired Tony Oden as its new passing game coordinator/CBs coach, hired Rayna Stewart as an assistant coach and announced John Fassel's hiring as the club's new special teams coordinator.
