Oklahoma State defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah intends to enter the 2016 NFL Draft, adding to a deep group of defensive linemen that have announced they will apply for early draft entry.
Ogbah posted his announcement Wednesday on Twitter, adding that he will receive his undergraduate degree in May.
The junior harassed Big 12 quarterbacks all season, amassing 13 sacks, 19 quarterback hurries and three forced fumbles for the 10-3 Cowboys. NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein evaluated Ogbah's skills against one of the elite offensive tackles in college football, Ole Miss' Laremy Tunsil, in the Sugar Bowl last week.
"He's violent (in his play)," Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer told USA Today during the season. "He's powerful. He's got great speed for his size. He's long. He's got tremendous body control for his size. All those measurables that you want that guy to have, he's got 'em. It's why the (NFL) loves him."
Ogbah (6-foot-4, 275 pounds) was selected Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the Big 12. He joins Ohio State's Joey Bosa and Clemson's Shaq Lawson among the top defensive ends to announce intentions to enter the draft early, along with a deep group of defensive tackles that includes Ole Miss' Robert Nkemdiche, UCLA's Kenny Clark and Penn State's Austin Johnson.
Underclassmen have until a Jan. 18 deadline to apply for early draft eligibility.
