If Saturday's roster move was any indication, it's unlikely we'll see at least one of Green Bay's injured wideouts on Sunday.
The Packers announced that they have promoted wide receiver Max McCaffrey to the active roster and placed long-injured center JC Tretter on injured reserve.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy indicated Friday that Jordy Nelson (ribs), Davante Adams (ankle) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) will all be game-time decisions ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game. None of the receivers practiced Friday, including Nelson, who also came down with an illness.
If McCaffrey is to be activated, he is most likely to take the place of Nelson. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Adams and Allison are expected to play through their injuries, but there has been no such determination about Nelson.
Depth was an issue the last time Aaron Rodgers faced the Falcons. In Week 8, Rodgers was without Eddie Lacy, Ty Montgomery and Randall Cobb, instead working with Don Jackson, Trevor Davis and a then-unheard-of Allison. Rodgers has made miracles out of no-name receivers in the postseason before (Jeff Janis, anyone?). Could he possibly do it with McCaffrey in a big spot on Sunday?
