Patriots place DL Cunningham on season-ending IR

New England Patriots defensive lineman Jermaine Cunningham was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday, while defensive lineman Eric Moore and defensive back Malcolm Williams have been signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Patriots defensive back Sterling Moore was released in a corresponding roster move.

Cunningham, 23, was selected in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Patriots and played in 15 games as a rookie, finishing with 41 tackles and one sack. Cunningham played in just nine games this year, failing to record a single sack.
