Patriots reach 1-year deal with CB Tarell Brown

The New England Patriots cornerback news keeps spinning this offseason.

The Pats reached a one-year agreement with corner Tarell Brown, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source involved in the deal. ESPN first reported the news.

Brown reportedly met with the Patriots twice this offseason before finally agreeing to a deal before training camp starts next week.

Bill Belichick had been looking to add corner depth this season as he remakes a secondary that lost the likes of Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, as well as Alfonzo Dennard and Kyle Arrington.

The 30-year-old Brown played 1,000 snaps in 14 games for the Oakland Raiders in one season after spending his first seven years across the Bay in San Francisco.

Brown ended the year on IR with a foot injury.

The veteran will compete for a spot in a New England secondary that includes corners Malcolm Butler, Logan Ryan, Bradley Fletcher, Justin Green, Robert McClain, Duron Harmon and several other young players.
