Projected 2014 starters: Washington Redskins

Around The League predicts the Week 1 starting lineups for all 32 teams, analyzing the potential impact of each rookie class.

» General manager Bruce Allen used his top pick on Trent Murphy, insurance for franchise player Brian Orakpo at outside linebacker. Since they sent their first-round pick to the Rams as the last remnant of the Robert Griffin III blockbuster, the Redskins can't count on an instant impact at the skill positions.

» On the positive side, the third round brought a pair of potential Week 1 offensive line starters in right tackle Morgan Moses and right guard Spencer Long. The latter likely would have been a top-60 pick if not for an MCL tear that prematurely ended his senior season at Nebraska. The 'Skins also have veterans Chris Chester and Tyler Polumbus on hand for insurance purposes. RGIII will take fewer hits than he did last season.

» The best news on offense is a receiving corps that is one of the most improved units in the league, with the additions of DeSean Jackson and Andre Roberts and the return to health of Jordan Reed. The best news on defense is the arrival of Jason Hatcher, who played at an All-Pro level in Dallas for the majority of last season. The secondary remains a major question mark, though, with a declining Ryan Clark at free safety and an unproven David Amerson moving into the starting lineup at cornerback.

» This team has added quality talent on both sides of the ball. If Griffin takes home Comeback Player of the Year honors, as predicted, the Redskins could threaten the Eagles for the division crown. If the quarterback play doesn't improve, though, another last-place finish is a realistic scenario.
