St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford was listed as doubtful rather than being ruled out for Sunday's season finale against the San Francisco 49ers, but coach Steve Spagnuolo said the second-year pro probably won't play.
"It would be tough (for Bradford) to get into the game," Spagnuolo told the St. Louis Post Dispatch. "We're never going to give up full hope, but we're going to be careful there."
Bradford, who hasn't practiced all week, missed the Rams' previous two games with an ankle injury. He figures to finish the regular season having thrown for 2,164 yards and six touchdowns and with interceptions in 10 games, far from the gaudy numbers that earned him NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2010.
Bradford didn't sounded optimistic earlier in the week, saying Wednesday that the ankle was "still not where I think our training staff would like it to be."
Backup A.J. Feeley (right thumb) also is doubtful, meaning Kellen Clemens, who has started two games in a row, is in line to receive the nod again Sunday.
The Rams listed defensive end Chris Long (ankle) as questionable. Cornerback Josh Gordy (abdomen), running back Jerious Norwood (illness) and linebacker Brady Poppinga (illness) are probable. Cornerback Justin King (shoulder) was ruled out.
Five-time Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Willis (hamstring) practiced every day this week and could return to the 49ers' lineup after missing three games. He was listed as questionable, along with cornerback Carlos Rogers (knee), who has been limited all week. Tight end Delanie Walker (jaw) and wide receivers Tedd Ginn (ankle) and Kyle Williams (concussion) also were listed as questionable, though none of those players practiced this week.
The 49ersreleased veteran Braylon Edwards earlier this week, leaving Michael Crabtree and Brett Swain as the only healthy receivers on the roster. Swain, who joined the 49ers after starter Josh Morgan broke a bone in his right leg in early October, has only one reception this season.
