The Baltimore Ravens received a modicum of positive news on Monday regarding Lamar Jackson.
Head coach John Harbaugh said on Monday that Jackson is day-to-day after suffering a "significant contusion" in his back in the first half of Sunday night’s loss to the New England Patriots.
The MRI showed no additional damage.
"It doesn't look like it's more than that," Harbaugh told reporters. "He's in there getting treatment now."
Jackson left the loss just before halftime after suffering the back injury. The QB was hit on a scramble and played the next snap before exiting in clear pain. Jackson was 7-of-10 passing for 101 yards and a 102.5 passer rating before the injury. Tyler Huntley took over for the rest of the game, going 9-of-10 passing for 65 yards.
It's been an injury-plagued campaign for Jackson, who missed three games due to a hamstring injury earlier this season.
The injury came at a brutal time, as the Ravens were trying to keep pace with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.
Harbaugh's club has lost three of its past four games after winning five straight. With Sunday's defeat, Baltimore now needs to win out and get some help. The Ravens must win in Green Bay in Week 17 and get a Browns victory over Pittsburgh to set up a winner-take-all Week 18 game.
