Ravens sign OL Jeremy Zuttah to two-year deal

Jeremy Zuttah is back with the Baltimore Ravens.

The team announced Friday it signed the center and waived/injured receiver Kenny Bell.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Zuttah's deal is for two years and worth nearly $4 million in base salary, with a max of $6 million in playtime incentives, per a source informed of the deal.

The Ravens traded Zuttah to the San Francisco 49ers in May in a swap of sixth-round picks. The 49ers cut the nine-year pro last week.

Zuttah found immediate interest on the open market, visiting the Indianapolis Colts earlier this week before deciding to return to Baltimore.

Zuttah, 31, started 16 games for the Ravens last season and earned his first Pro Bowl bid.

Signing the veteran fills a big need for Baltimore's banged-up interior line. The Ravens already lost starting left guard Alex Lewis (shoulder) and reserve Nico Siragusa (knee) for the season due to injuries. Center John Urschel also retired this offseason.

With Zuttah's familiarity in the Ravens' system, the return to Baltimore makes perfect sense. The signing likely means Ryan Jensen, who had been working at center, will bump to guard to compete with James Hurst, who took over for Lewis.
