Redskins continue offseason of moves, sign veteran DL Holliday

ASHBURN, Va. -- Defensive lineman Vonnie Holliday has signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Redskins.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Holliday had five sacks in 16 games with the Denver Broncos last season, his 12th in the NFL. He also has played for the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers.

The Redskins announced Holliday's signing Monday. He's the latest in a series of acquisitions along the defensive line this offseason.

Holliday, 34, has played in 167 career games, with 144 starts. He has 60 sacks, two interceptions, 38 passes defensed, nine forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries in his career.
