Report: Miami not interested in Cyrus Kouandjio at No. 19

Less than a week after the Palm Beach Post reported that the Miami Dolphins favor Alabama left tackle Cyrus Kouandjio over Notre Dame offensive lineman Zack Martin for the No. 19 overall pick in the NFL draft, a second report is directly contradicting the news.

The Dolphins, in fact, aren't even considering Kouandjio in the first round due to medical concerns, according to Tony Pauline of draftinsider.net. Miami is clearly in need of help along the offensive line, both on the field and in the locker room, after the debacle of last year involving Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin.

According to the Post, Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey "has a love" for Kouandjio as a right tackle prospect, and favors him in part because the club views the versatile Zack Martin as more of a guard. Kouandjio tore his ACL in 2011 as a freshman, but rebounded to make 27 consecutive starts for the Crimson Tide over the last two seasons. Still, Kouandjio indicated at his pro day that he understood six NFL clubs to have concerns about his medical reports.

Conflicting information isn't exactly uncommon two weeks before the NFL draft.

At the No. 19 pick, however, the Dolphins might not even have their choice between the two, anyway. NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah reported last week than an NFL general manager told him not to expect Martin to be available to the Dolphins at that point in the draft.
