Report: NFL fines Cowboys LT Free $7,500 for clip vs. Bucs

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Doug Free has been fined $7,500 by the league for an illegal clip against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Saturday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Free hit a defender from behind, below the knees, on a running play that did not draw a flag.

Free is the fifth Cowboys player to be fined this season: Receiver Kevin Ogletree was fined $7,500 for a facemask penalty at San Francisco in Week 2; linebacker DeMarcus Ware was fined $15,000 for a hit on Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 10; cornerback Frank Walker was fined $7,500 for an unnecessary roughness penalty on Miami tight end Anthony Fasano in Week 12; and rookie fullback Shaun Chapas was fined $20,000 for a blindside hit on a punt return in Week 13.
