Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Kerry Meier was fined $20,000 for an illegal blindside block to an opponent's head area, a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora on Friday.
Meier was punished for a hit on Vikings long-snapper Cullen Loeffler in last Sunday's 24-14 win over Minnesota. Loeffler suffered a broken bone in his lower back on the play and is out for the season.

» New England Patriots rookie offensive lineman Nate Solder was docked $7,500 for an illegal clip on a play featuring a direct snap to running back Danny Woodhead in last Sunday's 38-20 win over the Eagles, The Boston Globe reported.
"Specifically, on a run play, he struck the opponent from behind and below the waist," a league spokesman told The Globe via email.
» Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu and defensive end Stephen Bowen were fined for illegal hits in last Sunday's 23-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks, The Washington Post reported, citing a person with knowledge of the situation.
Helu was fined $7,500 for a chop block that earned him a 15-yard penalty in the first quarter. Bowen was docked $15,000 for roughing the passer on a helmet-to-helmet hit on Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. Bowen was not penalized on the play.
