Saints record first two-point blocked extra point return

New Orleans provided us with yet another exciting play this week.

Late in the second quarter Carolina Panthers kicker Graham Gano was attempting an extra point and the attempt was blocked by New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Kevin Williams. Saints linebacker Stephone Anthony scooped the ball up and returned it for a touchdown.

The significance of the play was it's the first two-point blocked extra point return in NFL history.

Take a look at how the play transpired:

New Orleans would've traded the play for a victory, though. The Saints eventually lost to the Panthers41-38.

Prior to this year, a blocked extra point resulted in a dead ball and no player could return it for a score.
