One of the finest statistical seasons of Taysom Hill's career is likely to have come to an end.
Hill, who was carted of the field during the New Orleans Saints' 21-14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, is feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
The tight end/quarterback/running back jack of all trades will have a follow-up MRI to determine the severity of the injury, but it's believed to be significant, Rapoport reported.
Hill exited late in the Saints' loss, having posted five receptions for 37 yards and rushed five times for 10 yards.
Hill, 34, had previously missed four games this season with chest and ribs injuries. He has has 34 carries for 278 yards and six touchdowns to go with 23 receptions for 187 yards.
Listed officially as a tight end, his 278 rushing yards are the third most by any TE in a season in NFL history -- trailing only himself in 2022 and 2023.
Hill exploded in a memorable Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns, becoming only the second player since 1950 to turn in 130-plus rushing yards, three or more rushing TDs and eight or more receptions.
Hill was a big part New Orleans' wins and still shined in some of its losses, but it seems as though the 4-8 Saints will march on without him for the remainder of the year.
