San Francisco 49ers' Al Netter reportedly charged with DUI

Al Netter, a practice-squad player for the San Francisco 49ers, reportedly was arrested and charged Wednesday with driving under the influence.

According to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, the offensive tackle did not immediately return its calls about the incident.

Bob Lange, spokesman for the 49ers, issued this statement:

"The 49ers are aware of the recent matter involving Al Netter. We take these issues very seriously but will reserve comment at this time as this is an ongoing legal matter. The organization will continue to gather the facts and monitor the developments closely."

The 49ers signed Netter on Feb. 7 to a reserve/future contract after he spent last season on the NFC champions' practice squad.
