San Francisco 49ers getting ready to hit accelerator

The San Francisco 49ers are starting to get their swagger back.

Tramaine Brock's early pick six of Matt Schaub set the tone for a laugher Sunday night, as the Niners won 34-3 over the Houston Texans and moved to 3-2.

After being beat up in back-to-back losses to the Seahawks and Colts, the 49ers have beaten the Rams and Texans by a combined score of 69-14.

San Francisco's defense suffocated Schaub, who threw three interceptions before he was benched in favor of T.J. Yates in the fourth quarter. Two of Schaub's picks went to Brock, who likely Wally Pipped Nnamdi Asomugha out of the 49ers' No. 3 cornerback job.

While Schaub floundered, Colin Kaepernick enjoyed an understated, mistake-free evening for San Francisco. He finished 6-of-15 passing for 113 yards, more than half of that production coming on a 64-yard touchdown hook-up with Vernon Davis in garbage time. Kaepernick still doesn't look like the guy who was torching defenses last season, but a dynamic performance wasn't necessary Sunday.

Up next for the 49ers is a home date against the Arizona Cardinals next week before they hit the road for matchups against the Titansand Jaguars. Don't be surprised if San Francisco still is sitting at two losses when it rolls into its Week 9 bye.
