Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers ties former teammate Brett Favre for fourth all time with 508 TD passes

Aaron Rodgers is back together with Brett Favre.

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback moved into fourth place all time in career touchdown passes during Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, tying former teammate and Hall of Famer Favre at No. 508.

Rodgers' milestone score was hauled in by receiver DK Metcalf on a 3-yard pass in the second quarter. That was Rodgers' lone TD of the day, however, and he finished the day 18-of-33 passing for 203 yards with two interceptions.

Once teammates on the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers' and Favre's 508th TD tosses similarly came with the second team they played for after departing Green Bay.

Favre was a member of the Minnesota Vikings when he threw his final touchdown on Dec. 20, 2010, against the Chicago Bears. Not long after, Favre ended his career as the league's leader in career TD tosses.

He's been passed up by Hall of Famer Peyton Manning (539 career touchdown passes) and future Hall of Famers Drew Brees (571) and Tom Brady (649). Rodgers would have to find vintage form to catch or surpass Manning this season, needing 36 for the year to tie him -- a number he's bested six times in his career, with the last coming in a 37-TD 2021.

Rodgers, 41, was famously selected at No. 24 overall in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Packers to be Favre's successor. Three years later he took over at QB1 for the Packers with Favre joining the New York Jets.

After 18 seasons with the Packers and Jordan Love's drafting in the 2020 first round, Rodgers likewise said goodbye to Wisconsin and went to the Jets.

In 2024, Rodgers threw his 500th career touchdown in Week 18 with the Jets, becoming just the fifth player to hit the milestone mark.

Now, Rodgers is tied for No. 4 all time with his former teammate, with his next scoring toss moving him past Favre in the record books.
