Transactions Roundup: Colts sign RB Jordan Todman

The Indianapolis Colts have added depth to their backfield.

The team announced it agreed to terms with Jordan Todman on Friday.

The 26-year-old tailback spent 11 games with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015. He earned just four regular season carries. Most notably he busted out for several long runs in the Steelers' Divisional round victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, leading Pittsburgh with 65 yards on 11 carries.

Prior to last season he spend three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. For his career, Todman has 115 carries for 472 yards (4.1 average) and three touchdowns.

Todman will compete with Robert Turbin for a roster spot behind starting tailback Frank Gore.

  1. The Vikings made three roster moves on Friday. The team signed tackle Andre Smith and Minnesota re-signed corner Terence Newman and defensive end Justin Trattou.
  1. The Bills signed safety Robert Blanton, the team announced.
  1. The Cowboys hosted restricted free-agent pass-rusher Benson Mayowa on Friday and he signed a three-year offer sheet with the team, a source with knowledge of the deal told Rapoport. The Raiders have five days to match.
  1. The Dolphins signed wide receiver Griff Whalen to a free agent contract, the team announced Friday. Whalen played a career-high 14 games for the Colts in 2015, catching 19 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown.
  1. Linebacker Jasper Brinkley has agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants, according to Rapoport, per a source.
