Vikings release linemen Brandon Fusco, Mike Harris

The offseason makeover of the Vikings' offensive line is underway.

Minnesota released guards Brandon Fusco and Mike Harris, the team announced Friday.

Fusco started 13 games this past season at right guard after starting all 16 games at left guard in 2015. A former sixth-round selection in 2011, he started 63 of the 66 regular-season games he played in Minnesota over six seasons.

Harris started all 16 contests in 2015 at right guard for the Vikings, but missed the entire 2016 campaign due to a non-football illness.

Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said in an interview with SiriusXM Radio in late January that the team will need to address the offensive line this offseason.

The Vikings finished last in the NFL with 3.2 yards per carry this past season. The pass protection wasn't much better either, as Sam Bradford suffered the sixth-most sacks by any quarterback with 37.

To make matters worse, Minnesota will not be able to address its blocking issues early in the draft, as the Vikings dealt their 2017 first-round pick to the Eagles in the Bradford trade. Add in a non-ideal cap situation, and it will be interesting to see how Spielman shores up the offensive line in the coming months.
