Andy Reid on chatter that Chiefs' window is closing: 'We don't listen to all the noise'

The Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl blowout loss, after a season of narrow wins and amid rising AFC West rivals, has prompted some to call 2025 a downslope in K.C.'s dynasty.

Andy Reid tunes out all that chatter.

"You understand because there were so many close games, but that's the National Football League, so I was proud of the guys and how they handled those," Reid told Kay Adams on "Up & Adams" when asked about the predictions of a lesser-than season. "When it's all said, it's winning the game. We have winners, and they figured it out. I was proud of them for that.

"We don't listen to all the noise. If you do that, you're gonna go crazy and then you're not gonna have fun, right?"

Some, like Patrick Mahomes, will bottle the motivation, particularly after the way the Super Bowl ended.

Reid simply doesn't give a hoot about anyone talking into a mic or yapping on social media.

"I don't care about the noise. Let's go win the game," the Chiefs coach said when asked again about the chatter.

The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers profile as clubs that could finally knock the Chiefs off their division pedestal after nine consecutive AFC West titles. Even the Las Vegas Raiders feel friskier after their latest organizational overhaul.

Even going 15-2 last season, the Chiefs weren't all that impressive, eking out a few wins that almost any other team would have lost. The demolition by the Eagles in the Super Bowl displayed those warts bare.

Reid said his team's ability to win even when things aren't perfect is a characteristic that should be celebrated, and one they're looking to repeat this season.

"That's important, and we've got a great challenge coming up here," he said of being winners. "Get to start it off in Brazil, and then we go from there. These teams in the AFC West are strong, great head coaches, great players, so we understand that. And then the rest of the league, there's so much parity in this league that you've got to be on your A game every week. That's what we're striving to do, get ourselves in a position where we can do that."
