Bowe remains an afterthought in Cleveland, listed as inactive in four of the team's six games this season. On Wednesday, Browns coach Mike Pettine didn't exactly hint that a Bowe revival was on the way.
"We make that decision each week," Pettine told WKRK-FM of Bowe's inactive status. "We build a plan and see where we are from a depth standpoint. We talk about the minimum position requirements. The top-four guys are entrenched."
The 31-year-old Bowe isn't a special teams contributor either, which makes him nothing more than a multi-million dollar insurance policy for Pettine's offense. This will be a topic general manager Ray Farmer will hope to avoid in his year-end review.
