Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy after win over Bills in AFC title game: 'They skipped on me, that's their loss'

As foretold on draft night, another trade with Kansas City came back to sting the Buffalo Bills.

In April, the Bills traded back with K.C., who leaped to No. 28 to select wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Fast-forward to Sunday night, Worthy led the Chiefs with six catches for 85 yards and a touchdown in a 32-29 win over Buffalo in the AFC title game. He also added two carries for 16 yards.

Entering the game, Worthy clearly had a chip on his shoulder. After beating the Bills, he voiced that motivation.

"I said it once, they skipped on me, that's their loss," Worthy told Marleah Campbell of KCTV5.

The trade-up for Worthy provided the Chiefs with a much-needed weapon in a season in which injuries and ineffective play from the wide receiver spot plagued Kansas City.

On Sunday, Worthy became the ninth rookie in NFL history with 100-plus scrimmage yards and one-plus TD in a conference championship. It also marked Worthy's first career game with 100-plus scrimmage yards. Worthy's most impressive catch came late in the second quarter when he wrestled the ball away from Bills' safety Cole Bishop for a 26-yard gain to set up a touchdown. Upon review, the ruling stood, despite replay appearing to show the ball might have touched the turf.

In the April trade-back with K.C., the Bills eventually selected receiver Keon Coleman. The Buffalo rookie had one catch for 12 yards on four targets on Sunday.

Sniping Worthy in a trade with Buffalo continues the trend of Kansas City tormenting the Bills. Not only did Buffalo help the Chiefs acquire Patrick Mahomes, a dynasty-altering move, but they also helped K.C. potentially three-peat after the acquisition of a speedy wideout. Sunday, that trade came home to roost in the worst way for Buffalo.
