Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is having another season sidelined by injury.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that McCoy suffered a season-ending injury, per sources informed of the situation. The Raiders announced the DT sustained a knee injury during Monday Night Football.
McCoy and offensive lineman Denzelle Good (knee) were officially placed on injured reserve, Rapoport reported via the transaction wire.
It's the latest blow to the 33-year-old former Pro Bowler. McCoy missed all of 2020 after rupturing his quad in practice with the Dallas Cowboys. McCoy played nine snaps as a reserve DT in the Raiders' opening-game win over the Baltimore Ravens before being carted off with an injury.
A six-time Pro Bowler in nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, McCoy played in all 16 games with the Carolina Panthers in 2019, compiling five sacks.
The Raiders signed DT Damion Square off the Bears' practice squad on Tuesday to help replace McCoy.
Good, like McCoy, was injured in Monday night's win against the Ravens.
Injuries/COVID-19
- Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James did not practice on Wednesday due to a toe injury. James was one of myriad Chargers who were DNPs, including offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga (back), safety Nasir Adderley (groin) and cornerback Chris Harris.
- Dallas Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence suffered a broken foot in Wednesday's practice and is out indefinitely, Rapoport reported.
- Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen returned to practice in a limited capacity after being placed on the COVID-19 list last week. The team officially activated Shaheen off the list later Wednesday. Wide receiver Preston Williams (foot) was also limited. Coach Brian Flores declined to say if Raekwon Davis (knee) would require surgery. The Dolphins placed Davis on injured reserve Tuesday.
- Denver Broncos pass rusher Bradley Chubb (ankle) will be limited in Wednesday's practice, coach Vic Fangio told reporters. Chubb was inactive in Week 1.
- Carolina Panthers guard John Miller was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
- Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis did not practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury. Defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, linebacker Matt Milano and wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie were limited. Wideout Emmanuel Sanders (foot) was a full go.
- New York Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton is still getting a second opinion on his knee injury coach Robert Saleh told reporters. He could miss more than eight weeks if he opts for surgery. Receiver Keelan Cole (knee) will be back at practice Wednesday after missing Sunday's game, while Jamison Crowder has one more day until he's cleared for COVID-19 protocol. New York expects linebacker Jamien Sherwood (foot) to return next week.
- Chicago Bears offensive lineman Larry Borom (ankle) did not practice, while defensive tackle Eddie Goldman (knee/ankle), offensive lineman Jason Peters (quad) and linebacker Robert Quinn (back) were all limited.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (hand) was limited in Wednesday's practice. Safety Jordan Whitehead, who missed the opener because of a hamstring injury, was a full participant.
- In the Las Vegas Raiders' estimated injury report from Wednesday's walkthrough, guard Richie Incognito (calf), running back Josh Jacobs (toe/ankle), linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski (concussion), quarterback Marcus Mariota (quad) and defensive end Carl Nassib (pectoral/toe) did not participate. Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (hamstring) was limited. Guard Denzelle Good (knee) was placed on injured reserve.
- Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard (ankle), guard Quenton Nelson (foot/back) and cornerback Xavier Rhodes (calf) did not practice Wednesday.
- Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree (knee) did not practice Wednesday, while wide receiver A.J. Brown (knee) was limited.
- Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) did not practice.
- San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee), cornerback Emmanuel Moseley, linebacker Dre Greenlaw (groin) and defensive lineman Arik Armstead (abductor) did not practice Wednesday. Defensive end Dee Ford was limited.
- New England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown (calf) and linebacker Kyle Van Noy (throat) did not practice Wednesday.
- New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore (hand), defensive end Marcus Davenport (shoulder), and linebacker Kwon Alexander (elbow) did not practice.
- New York Giants tight end Evan Engram and (calf) guard Shane Lemieux (knee) have been ruled out of Thursday's game against Washington. Running back Saquon Barkley (knee) is questionable.
- Cincinnati Bengals safety Ricardo Allen (broken hand) has been placed on injured reserve.
- Cleveland Browns receiver Odell Beckham (knee) will not play Sunday against the Texans. Beckham did not play in Cleveland's season-opener either. Center JC Tretter (knee) and offensive tackles Jedrick Wills (ankle) and Jack Conklin (knee) did not practice.
- Seattle Seahawks center Ethan Pocic (knee) was placed on injured reserve.
- Houston Texans cornerback Desmond King (knee), tight end Pharaoh Brown (ankle/shoulder) and wide receiver Andre Roberts (knee) did not practice Wednesday. Defensive lineman Vincent Taylor was placed on injured reserve.
- Arizona Cardinals offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum (ribs) did not practice.
- Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown (ankle), offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley and defensive end Derek Wolfe (hip/back) did not practice Wednesday, while cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Jimmy Smith were limited.
- Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Austin Blythe (abdomen) and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders (glute) did not practice Wednesday, but wide receiver Tyreek Hill (toe), running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) and defensive lineman Frank Clark (hamstring) were full participants.
