Kenny Britt won't play for Titans against Texans

Kenny Britt's status was hazy heading into Sunday, but the Tennessee Titans receiver won't be ready to go against the Houston Texans on Sunday. The team listed Britt among their inactives.

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport saw this one coming. He watched Britt test his injured left ankle at Reliant Stadium on Sunday. Britt's limp was noticeable and he gave Rapoport a thumbs down, saying, "It's ugly."

Tennessee will move forward without Britt against a ferocious Texans defense. Receiver Nate Washington has done solid work in the No. 1 role in Britt's absence, and rookie Kendall Wright and Damian Williams will see plenty of snaps. Tight end Jared Cook will figure heavily in the game plan if his injured shoulder is ready to go.

Britt injured the ankle in last Sunday's overtime win against the Detroit Lions. This isn't the same offense without him, but the Titans have gotten used to their veteran wideout missing time for one reason or another.
