Knee injury sidelines Vikings guard Herrera for Packers tilt

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said starting right guard Anthony Herrera will not play on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers because of a ligament injury in his left knee.

Herrera missed the Vikings' previous game against the Carolina Panthers as well. They had a bye last week and Frazier was hopeful Herrera would be able to return to the practice field this week to test it out. But the coach said the knee injury has not progressed enough to do that yet.

Frazier said he is hopeful that Herrera, who has an injured ligament, will be able to practice next week. Frazier said the team does not view the situation as a long-term injury.

Joe Berger will start in Herrera's place for the second straight game.
