  • CB Jaylon Johnson (leg) could miss the majority of training camp as he remains on the non-football injury list, but there is a chance he will be ready for Week 1, Bears head coach coach Ben Johnson told reporters on Thursday. “I think there’s a scenario where he’ll be ready for Week 1,” Johnson said, via the Chicago Sun-Times. “That’s really the target date. I know he’s working hard and diligently to get there for that. With those types of injuries that he’s got, you just never know. You never know. It’s still early in that process. I know he’s attacking that rehab really well.”

  • TE Noah Fant is expected to sign with Cincinnati, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Thursday, per sources. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed the news. Fant, 27, was released by the Seahawks on July 20. The seventh-year tight end caught 48 passes for 500 yards and a score in 14 games played for Seattle in 2024. Fant figures to slot in behind Mike Gesicki in Cincy's TE room.

Head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed the news to reporters, adding that he expects Cross to return sometime between the Seahawks’ final preseason game and their regular-season opener. Cross wanted to play through the injury, according to Macdonald, but surgery made sense considering the timetable for return.
