At the time of his injury, the 6-foot-4, 310-pound second-round pick out of Clemson was pushing veteran Adam Carriker for the starting job at left defensive end.

Jenkins injured the knee while trying to tackle Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice in the team's third preseason game at M&T Bank Stadium on Aug. 25. He was placed on injured reserve on Aug. 29, and maintained throughout much of the season that he was ahead of schedule, choosing to stay around Redskins Park to work on his rehabilitation and learn the defense.

When the season ended, the Redskins were optimistic that Jenkins would be back to 100 percent by the time the team's offseason conditioning program begins Monday. Jenkins announced via Twitter Wednesday afternoon that he has made it.
