  • Arizona State offensive lineman Chip Sarafin on Wednesday became the first active NCAA Division I football player to publicly announce that he is gay, The Arizona Republic reported. St. Louis Rams rookie Michael Sam came out to his University of Missouri teammates prior to last season, but he did not make a public announcement until he was training for the NFL Scouting Combine.
  • CHCH-TV in Canada reported on how Western University used its second concussion awareness and fundraising event to announce a new partnership aimed at reducing the blow concussions have on sports in the country.
